A family recently relocated from west London to a village near Corby, Northamptonshire. The couple, along with their three sons, is in the process of building a house using golden limestone quarried just 10 minutes away in Oundle.
“When people talk about how pretty the buildings are in the Cotswolds, they don’t realise that we are on the same seam – it starts in Portland in Dorset and runs up to Lincolnshire, coming out honey-coloured here,” says one of them.
While the houses may look similar, there’s a significant difference between the two areas.

The area’s growing food scene, cultural offerings, and authentic village life are drawing in families and creatives alike.
